Indian Food Made with Time, Care, and Balance
When people search for an Indian restaurant in Cheltenham, they’re usually looking for something familiar. Food that’s warm, properly spiced, and comforting without feeling heavy. That’s the direction we follow at Curry Queen. Our kitchen doesn’t rush – curries are left to simmer so flavours settle and develop naturally, and spices have time to settle and build flavour instead of overpowering the dish.
Tandoori dishes are marinated well before service and cooked over high heat, which gives that gentle smokiness many guests notice straight away. The flavours tend to feel balanced instead of overly rich, mostly because preparation matters more than shortcuts. It’s simple cooking done with patience.
The menu mixes well-known favourites with dishes people often discover after a few visits. You’ll find creamy paneer, slow-cooked lentils, fragrant biryanis, and grilled selections made fresh throughout service. Some guests arrive knowing exactly what they want every time, others prefer to explore. Either way, the aim stays the same, honest Indian food that feels satisfying and easy to enjoy.

A Relaxed Fine Dining Experience in Cheltenham
As a fine dining Indian restaurant in Cheltenham, Curry Queen keeps things polished without making it formal or stiff. It works just as well for a quiet dinner as it does for a family gathering or a small celebration where you actually want to relax and stay a while. Service moves at a comfortable pace, so you’re not rushed through courses.
The menu is flexible by design. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dishes are part of everyday service, and spice levels can usually be adjusted depending on how you like your food. Indian meals are often shared, so portions are prepared with the table in mind. The result is straightforward: good cooking, attentive service, and an atmosphere people feel comfortable coming back to.

Lovely service with in depth explanations of dishes and useful recommendations. We ordered the Haryali Lamb curry, Shahi Malal Kofta and Jungli Murghi Jalfrezi (chicken curry) with three different types of naan. Each dish was so flavorful and delicious. There were so many options on the menu to choose from! Highly recommend.

Wow, this is probably the best Indian food I've tasted in Melbourne.
So far, we've visited them twice. Every bite has been flavourful & delightful.
The menu features some very unique & delicious dishes that we haven't found elsewhere.
Dash (the owner) is highly passionate about his craft. And it shines through in the cooking. He has been very accommodating to our dietary needs too - offering to custom-make dishes outside the menu.
If you would like an experience beyond the typical "fried bread & curry sauce" fare, give them a visit!
